Lisa is a food & culinary consultant to world-class resorts & major corporations for 3 decades working with Ritz Carlton Hotels, Sandals Resorts International, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Bitter End Resorts, BVI. She completed the Chef Certificate program at Miami Culinary Institute of Miami Dade College where she serves as Chair of the Institute&s Advisory Board Committee and graduated from the Culinary Medicine Program at The Goldring Center, Tulane Medical School. She completed her chef intership with Chef Jamie Simpson at The Culinary Vegetable Institute/Chef&s Garden. Since &15 Lisa has served on the Slow Food Miami Snail of Approval Committee.
Lisa has worked with more than 15 hospitals & medical center food service departments & spent nearly a decade working with the law enforcement system as the designated dietitian for the Federal Correctional System, where she worked on menus, and training inmates on food & sanitation issues. She consults to Chartwells at Barry and Nova Universities on their food service and student athlete programs. Lisa is Serve Safe Manager Certified. As an educator, Lisa was Director of the Graduate program in Nutrition for Health & Human Performance at The University of Miami, Lisa was also a Culinary Nutrition instructor at Johnson & Wales University & the Miami Culinary Institute&s Enthusiast Series Program. She has taught After School Kids Cooking classes, ages 3-8 for The Real Food Academy.
Lisa is often called upon by industry leaders for groundbreaking culinary programs. In 2001, Lisa launched the Tropical Diet™ Spa cuisine in the Caribbean & trained dozens of food service staff towards a Spa Cuisine Certification program she personally created for the employees. Lisa also worked with chefs to develop the Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne Ritz Kidz Healthy Cuisine program; co created the Fit Life menus featured at So Florida's Deli Lane Restaurants and has analyzed the recipes & worked with chefs from Sir Pizza & Yogurbella restaurants to enhance the nutritional value of their menu items. She has worked alongside with some of the top & celebrity chefs in their kitchens and events.
The author of 8 books and numerous book chapters, Lisa is a sought after media spokesperson for her food & culinary expertise, participating in dozens of TV, radio, print, media tours, representing companies & trade groups. Her quotes, recipes & books have appeared on 20/20, Dateline, Good Morning America Health, FOX News, CNN, MSNBC and ESPN and featured in USA Today, Newsweek, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Food & Wine, & People Diet magazines. A pioneer in local food TV & radio, Lisa was producer & host of her own cooking & nutrition program, Food Fitness & concurrently was host of the Hot-105 radio talk-show, Hot Bodies. As Nutrition Editor for SoBeFit Magazine, Lisa wrote restaurant reviews & recipe modification columns - Fit Gourmet & Drink it Up, reconstructing traditional recipes to meet healthier guidelines for fitness-minded men & women.
