Chris Herrera, DPT, CSCS, CPT
is a leader in the sports training and health care field as a certified
strength and conditioning specialist and licensed physical therapist
working with athletes ranging from eight years to world class Olympic
and professional athletes. Chris is a personal strength and conditioning
coach for numerous athletes that are in or have been NCAA basketball,
baseball, field hockey, and football along with sailors currently
training for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
In addition to
working with individual athletes Chris is member of the US Olympic
Sailing Performance Enhancement Team (PET) were he focuses on screening
and building programs for elite sailors on the Olympic Youth Development
Team. He is also the strength and conditioning coach for Gulliver Preparatory
High School baseball team.
Chris has done numerous lectures/presentations around the US and
internationally. Locally he has lectured/presented at numerous Willy
Guardiola’s summer basketball camps. He is a consultant to strength and
conditioning specialist and coaches throughout the United States and internationally.
Chris has written numerous articles in
I Beyond Magazine. Chris
screens and builds strength programs for sailors in over 7 countries and
has been a lecturer/presenter in Spain for the
International Optimist Clinic.
Known
as an expert in creating and developing specific sport workout regimens,
he shaped and expanded his own ACL rehab regimen into a successful
recovery and the starting point guard for a Divisional I college
basketball team. Chris played for Eastern Illinois
from 1999-2003 and competed in the 2002 NCAA Basketball Tournament.
